Cecil W. Conn, 86, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Saturday, March 18,
2006.  
  
He was born June 25, 1919, in Nova Scotia, Canada.  
  
Mr. Conn was on active duty from 1940 to 1945 with the North Nova Scotia
Highlanders. In 1951 he moved to Waltham, Mass. He worked as a centerless
grinder with Van Keuren Company for 31 years. Mr. Conn retired in 1991 and
moved to Port Charlotte with his wife, Dorothy, from Waltham. He was a member
of the Masonic Lodge Pequossette Chapter AS&AM and the Canadian Legion. He was
of the Protestant faith. He loved sports, especially playing golf.  
  
He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 59 years, Dorothy; son,
Charles Conn and grandson, Casey Conn, both of Newbury Port, Mass.  
  
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Tanner Hall in
Port Charlotte Village, 1000 Kings Highway, Port Charlotte.  
  
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to TideWell Hospice and
Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238; or Pilgrim United Church
of Christ, 24515 Rampart Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33980.

Note:  Cecil Conn was born in Springhill, the son of William Conn and Ethel
Cox.  His wife is the former Dorothy MacLeod, also from Springhill.
