OBIT # 2155 - VANCOUVER SUN - 14 MARCH 2001
SHABATOWSKY _ Ruth Bernice (nee Worthylake) born March 20th, 1924, in
Westville, Nova Scotia, died March 6th, 2001. She moved west and settled in
Edmonton Alberta, where she met and married Peter in March 1949. Together
they raised their 3 children, Mary-Lou, Carol and Robert, and eventually moved
again to Vancouver in 1966. The family increased with marriages to Larry and
Cliff and the birth of grandchildren Brian, Tanis and Nicholas, who brought
much joy to Ruth's life. She will be sorely missed by many, but most of all by
Peter who was faithful to her for over 51 years. Thank you to many people who
supported us over the declining years, especially Marjorie from Comcare
Services, the Staff of Renfrew Care Centre and the Renfrew United Church
Fellowship. A special gratitude to Billie who was with Ruth in her final hour.
God Bless all of you. Memorial service to be held, Saturday, March 17th, at
1:30 p.m at Renfrew United Church, 2855 E. 1st Ave, Vancouver.
