Joyce B. Canning

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Joyce B. Canning, age 89,
of Springhill, NS. Joyce passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at
Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.

  

Born in Springhill, NS, she was a daughter of the late Murray and Mildred
(Clarke) McLeod.

  

Joyce was born and brought up in Springhill, NS. In her younger years, she
moved to Toronto where she worked for Bell as a Telephone Operator. Upon
retiring, she returned to Springhill, NS. She was very excited to be back at
home with her family and friends, it was a true homecoming. She loved to go to
bingo, belonged to the card club, and was an avid reader.

  

She will be dearly missed by her son Barry of Springhill, NS; several nieces
and nephews.

  

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters Lois Calder Spence
and Marilyn Fancy.

  

Arrangements are under the care and direction of A H Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361). A graveside service will be held
at a later date, when she will be interred beside her parents in the Hillside
Cemetery, Springhill.
