Obituary of James W. Melanson

  

Melanson, James W (Chickie) of Dartmouth passed away on Feb 22,2020 at the
QEII Hospital surrounded by his family. Born Nov 29, 1937 in River Hebert Nova
Scotia  he was a son of the late Danny & Selina (Burke) Melanson.

Jimmy was predeceased by his devoted wife of 48 years June (Dujay).

He leaves behind daughter, Lori (Tom) Keeping; son Jimmy Jr; brother, Philip;
sister, Alice Ross; grandchildren, Brandon (Tammy) Fields, Alyssa and Danielle
Melanson and Kayla Keeping; great-grandchild Jonah Melanson; mother in law,
Jean Dujay; brother in law, Ross (Mary) Dujay; sisters in law, Alma Mills,
Rose Melanson and Margaret Melanson; dear family members, Roxeanne, Jeff; and
his 2 BFF's Cash and Lilou "Lulu".

Predeceased by his brothers, Robert "Bobby/Humphrey", Edward "Ned", Danny &
Frankie.

Jim left Nova Scotia to work on the Great Lake boats, returned home and worked
for Thompson's Moving & Storage and then was self-employed as a taxi driver
with Alex Taxi and then Woodside Taxi.

Jim was fond of old westerns, VLT's, donuts and his garden.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 29th from 2-4pm at T.J.
Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 71 McQuade Lake Crescent Halifax
