Age 89, of Centreville, passed away on December 23, 2018 in Grandview Manor,
Berwick. Born in Upper Nappan, she was a daughter of the late Carlos and
Lillian (Smith) Read. She was a former teacher in East Amherst and Nappan
until family responsibilities required her attention. She was a loving mother
and very devoted to her family. She loved to travel and take long walks on the
beach. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1952. She will be
dearly missed by children, Ardith Stiles, Centreville; Marlene (Bill) MacKay,
Lakeville; Richard (Carolyn) Stiles, New Minas; Brian (Nancy) Stiles,
Dewberry, Alta.; siblings, Doug, Vivian, Edwin (Gwen) and Barb; half-sisters,
Dorothy Jean (Bob), Althea (Rick), Catherine (Ken); grandchildren, Carlee
(Dana), Amanda, Mya (Matthew), Tyler (Jacqueline), Colin, Corey (Chaula),
Deanna (Lonnie), Jordan; great-grandchildren, MacKay, Noah, Isabella, Hannah
and Olivia. She was predeceased by husbands, Denzell Stiles and Clifford
Allen; granddaughter, Lori Lynn; great-granddaughter, Vienna; sisters, Elaine
and Iona; brothers, Garnet and Cecil. Cremation has taken place. There will be
no visitation, by request. A Celebration of Life will take place 2 p.m. on
Wednesday, December 26th, in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Centreville,
Paul Crandall officiating. Burial will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam
Mill. Immediate family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be
made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home and Cremation
