Re: [nscumber] Hazel related family

Hi John:

I tend to agree. It may be going the way of the Dodo.

Most of the present sub scribers on nscumber are oblivious to any problems
over the last year. I on ly know about some who have e-mailed me and I
replied I was just a frequent poster only and had nothing to do with the
internal workings of the site.< /div>

Hi Dave,

It's sounding more and more that it would have been a good idea
to migrate this list to another platform. I had brought up that
idea last fall but there didn't seem to be anybody interested.

Most lists I'm subscribed to have moved to groups.io which is
working out very well.

As far as I know the list owner is still Brian Paul. He didn't
seem interested in taking up my offer of help in moving the list,
when I raised the issue with him (off list) last fall.

He is the only one with the authority to do anything significant
with this list -- at least as far as transferring material and
subscribers to a new platform. *If* there is a moderator, that
person may be able to approve subscriptions -- but maybe not,
with the new rules Yahoo set up. I haven't read those since things
closed down a few months ago so don't recall the details.

I think at this point it may not be possible to migrate the full
list of subscribers, but the possibility could be investigated.

I'm too busy to do much on this at the moment - am helping with
beta testing on a piece of new software.

John
