Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rodrique "Rod" Raymond Goguen,
loving husband of Sandra (Ross) Goguen, announces his passing that occurred at
his residence on Friday, June 26, 2020. Born on August 31, 1944 in Moncton,
NB, he was the son of the late Edward (Ned) and Alva (Melanson) Goguen.

Rod was an avid horseman his entire life, faithfully spending many hours every
day at the track. He was also a skilled pipe fitter and worked at the Saint
John Dry Dock as well as the Irving Oil Refinery, where he retired from in
2010.

In addition to his loving wife of 52 years, Sandra, he is survived by his sons
Danny (Shelley) Goguen and Jeremy (Genevieve) Goguen; granddaughters Meghan,
Audrey and Lina, who were his greatest joy.

Rod also leaves behind brothers Joe (Joanne), Normand (Florine), Meddy
(Theresa) and sisters Mary Wilson, Lil (late Grant) MacMellon, Phyllis (Ron)
Perry, Louise (Ken) Gorman, Flo (late Rock) Dube and brother-in-law George
Frizzell, sister-in-law Donna (Charles) Ross; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Vic, Ozzie, Len (late
Vi), Raoul, Eugene, Dollard and his sister Pauline; brothers-in-law - Gordon,
Percy, Ronald, Carlyle, Charles and sister-in-law Sylvia.

The family would like to thank Dr. Naz, Dr. Michaels and Dr. Langille for the
care provided to Rod over the past several months. Special thanks to the
Saint John Extra-Mural team, especially Nurse Leanna, for all their support,
which enabled Rod to remain at home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland
Road. Due to current health restrictions, visitation and funeral service will
be held privately for family and friends, by invitation only. The family
invites everyone to join them on Thursday, July 2nd for Rod's "Final Lap" at
Exhibition Park Raceway at 2 PM, followed by the burial at Oceanview Memorial
Gardens, Latimore Lake Road. A reception and final toast to Rod will follow
at 74 Sproule Rd, Saint John, immediately after.

For those who wish, donations in his memory may be made to the Saint John
Extra-Mural Program, the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
