Obit: PAYNE, Arthur Ray
PAYNE, Arthur Ray - 74, Oxford, Cumberland Co., passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 31, 2002. Born in Oxford, he was a son of the late Frank and Lillian M. (Myers) Payne. He was employed for a number of years with the Cobequid Lumber Company Ltd. in Oxford Junction. He later was employed with the Oxford Desk Company in Oxford. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with
Oxford Frozen Foods Ltd., Oxford. He was an adherent of Church of the Nazarene Oxford and a member of Oxford Area Mens Club. Surviving are daughter, Jean Payne, Ontario; sons, David Payne, Truro, Colchester Co.; Dale Payne (Dorothy), Oshawa, Ont.; Dean Payne, Ontario; brother, Clarence Payne (Willena), Oxford; a number of grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Raymond Payne and by brother, Elmer Payne in infancy. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Sunday evening, with funeral service 2 p.m. Monday, August 5, both in Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, Pastor David Alley officiating. Burial will take place in Oxford Pine Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Church of the Nazarene Oxford Memorial Fund or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
