Obit: BOYCE, Hazel "Joyce"

BOYCE, Hazel "Joyce" - 66, 65 Pleasant St., Springhill, passed away Friday, August 2, 2002, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in New Canaan, Cumberland Co., she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret (Fullerton) Fife. She was an adherent of St. Andrews Wesley United Church, Springhill. She taught elementary school for 34 and a half years until her retirement and was a member of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union. She was an avid card and washers player and enjoyed quilting, sewing, the beach, her friends and family. She is survived by her husband, Donald Boyce; sons, Allan (Carol) Boyce, Patrick (Elizabeth) Boyce and Grant (Jennifer) Boyce, all of Springhill; daughter, Joy Boyce, Halifax; sisters, Ida Kofoed, Amherst; Evelyn Hantford, Abbotsford, B.C.; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Charles, Lawson and Hilton; sisters, Marion and Madiline. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday, August 4, and 1-2 p.m. Monday, August 5, in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, followed immediately at 2 p.m. by a memorial service, Rev. Elizabeth Davies officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
