OBITUARY
TOMS RIVER, New Jersey, USA - Captain LeMert Sheridan Mills, age 91,
passed away June 23, 2001 and his wife, Phyllis Genevieve (Morris)
Mills, age 87, passed away July 1, 2002. Both were formally of Advocate
Harbour, Nova Scotia. LeMert was the son of the late Carl and Arlene
(Sheridan) Mills, Advocate Harbour. During the Second World War, he
was in the Merchant Marines. He was a sea captain retiring in 1972. He
was a member of the Lions Club, Toms River, New Jersey and worked with
the Lions Club in Parrsboro during his summer vacationing in Advocate
Harbour. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythian here in Nova
Scotia. Phyllis was the daughter of the late Captain Johnson and Agnes
(Morris) Morris. She worked for a telephone company in Long Island, New
York. She was a former organist for the Advocate United Church and
enjoyed needlework and shopping. They are survived by son, John and his
wife Claudia, granddaughter, Joanna, grandson Justin and his wife
Christina and two grandchildren, Alexis and Justin, Jr.; also survived
by Phyllis's brother, Elroy Morris and his wife, Therese of Spruce Head,
Maine. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 24 at 2 p.m. in
Advocate United Church, Advocate Harbour with Rev. Bob Mack
officiating. Burial will be in the Advocate Cemetery following the
