FISHER, Frederick Wayne - 63, Amherst, passed away Friday, July 12, 2002, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Frederick and Constance (Goodwin) Fisher. He was the beloved husband for 37 years to Edith (Carter); devoted father to daughters, Natalie (Antony) Spalton, Pnom Phenh, Cambodia; Connie, Los Angeles; Jennifer, Vancouver; son, Andrew, Halifax; brothers, Roderick (Joan), Springhill; Gary (Dorothy), Riverview, N.B.; grandchild, William Spalton; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Fred operated businesses, the Fisher Motel, Horton Dental Lab and Fisher Honda until his retirement due to ill health. He was active in his community and served as past president of Amherst Rotary Club, president of Amherst Chamber of Commerce and member of the Amherst Lions Club. He loved the outdoors, sports, nature, Old Timers Hockey, down hill skiing and golf. Fred's remains are resting in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst. Funeral service 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Interment in Amherst Cemetery. Donations in memory of Fred may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
