Mrs. Alfretta ROSS, 73, of 40 Pleasant Street, Springhill, died
Saturday, August 28, in Pugwash. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter
of the late Bedford and Jessie (MORTON) MATTHEWS. She was a member of
St. David's Presbyterian Church, Springhill. She is survived by two
brothers, Edward and Basil; two sisters, Mrs. Laura KEIVER and Mrs.
Shirley MACKINNON, all of Springhill, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas ROSS; a brother, Chester and
two sisters, Adelaide and Pauline (Mrs. John F. SPENCE, Sr.). The body
rested at A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, where funeral was held at
2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. James Martell officiating, with burial in
Hillside cemetery, Springhill. (From newspaper clippings.)
