Obit: ASBELL, Scott Leslie
ASBELL, Scott Leslie - Oxford, passed away peacefully May 17, 2002, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, at the age of 36 years. Born in Montreal, he was the oldest son of L. Stuart and Marilyn F. (Nichols) Asbell. Besides his parents, he is survived by his only brother, David (Gail) and nephews, Carter and Mason, all of Grafton, N.B.; great-aunt, Frances Macnab, Halifax; aunt, Frances (Ronald) Ford, Georgetown, Ont.; uncle, Kenneth (Janet) Nichols, Woodstock, N.B.; several cousins. He was predeceased by grandparents, Les and Bertha Asbell (Oxford); Reg and Florence Nichols (Saint John, N.B.). Scott and family moved to Oxford in 1969. He attended Oxford Regional Elementary School and was a graduate of the former Interprovincial School and Vocational School for the Deaf, Amherst. He was an adherent of Trinity United Church, Oxford and a member of the Oxford Area Lions Club. He was an avid television and movie viewer and a connoisseur of good food. Scott worked for several years at Gordon's Greenhouses Limited and at the time of his death was employed by Oxford Frozen Foods Limited, Oxford, where, under the direction and kind consideration of Vickie Miller and Stan Banks, always enjoyed going to work and being part of "his crew". Remains are resting in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, Oxford, with visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Monday. Private family funeral service will take place Tuesday, May 21. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
