Obit: CROWELL, Owen Smith "Bob"

CROWELL, Owen Smith "Bob" - 71, Parrsboro/Yarmouth, passed away May 13, 2002, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Dexter and Neva (Durkee) Gray. Bob grew up in Pleasant Valley. He lived most of his adult life in the Parrsboro area until recently, moving back to Yarmouth. He was a graduate of Yarmouth Academy and Yarmouth Vocational School. He taught Sunday school. He was employed briefly with Motor Mart, Yarmouth. He was also employed for 11 years with his nephew at Wrights Pharmacy, Parrsboro, until his retirement. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving are his nephew, Graydon (Margie) Nickerson, Parrsboro; great-niece, Brenda Johnson, Yarmouth; great-nephews, Scott (Jennifer) Nickerson, Prince George, B.C.; Marlo Nickerson, Moncton, N.B.; great great-niece, Gabrielle Nickerson; great great-nephew, Quinten Johnson; several cousins. He was predeceased by foster sister, Beth Rodney; foster brother, Leslie Whitehouse. Visitation will be 3-4 p.m. today in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Yarmouth. Funeral will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in Pleasant Valley United Baptist Church, Rev. Kendall McRae officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Pleasant Valley Cemetery Fund.
