YORKE-DOWE, Krista Lynn - 34, Parrsboro, Cumberland Co., died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, in South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Ville La Salle, Que., she was the eldest daughter of Eric and Florence (Henwood) Yorke, Parrsboro. She was a graduate of Parrsboro Regional High School in 1988. In the spring of 2001, she was accepted to Acadia Divinity School and was granted a licence to minister by Parrsboro Baptist Church. She was very active within Parrsboro Baptist Church and worked as a casual janitor for the church. Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, Donald Dowe; stepson, Evan Miller, Joggins; sister, Kimberly Yorke, Westville; maternal grandmother, Viola (Forbes) (Henwood) Gilliatt and maternal step-grandfather, Lawrence Gilliatt, Truro; paternal grandparents, Gardner and Alene Yorke, Parrsboro. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Percy Henwood. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m Friday, April 26, in Parrsboro Baptist Church, Rev. Ralph Morris officiating. Burial will be in Riverbank Cemetery, Port Greville. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Parrsboro Baptist Church or the Palliative Care of South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Arrangements entrusted to Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro.
