FORREST, RICHARD D. - The death of Richard D. Forrest, husband of Lois (Elder) Forrest, occurred on April 22, 2002, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he was the son of the late Walter Richard and Jessie (Rozander) Forrest. He served with the Superior Lake Regiment overseas during WW II. He was a welder by trade having been employed with the Provincial Hospital before his retirement. He is a member of Portland United Church. He is survived by his son J. Dean of St. Margaret's Bay, NS, his daughters Ellen Flemming of Quispamsis, Lynne Forrest of Quispamsis, Glenna Forrest of Saint John, his sisters Violet Wilton of Ladysmith, BC, Queenie Walters of Winnipeg, MB, his six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Edward and his sisters Georgie, Bertie and Clare. Following cremation at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, (634-7424), there will be a memorial service at Portland United Church on Thursday, April 25, 2002, at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrance made may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donors choice. www.brenansfh.com
