Obit: FAHEY, Freda Ione
FAHEY, Freda Ione - 85, Oxford, Cumberland Co., passed away peacefully Saturday, April 20, 2002, in The Moncton City Hospital. Born in Mount Pleasant, Cumberland Co., she was a daughter of the late Avard and Jeanette M. (Gilbert) Fahey. She was a member of Oxford United Baptist Church, a member of Oxford Baptist Ladies Circle and a member of the Missions Committee. She also taught Sunday school for a number of years. She was a member of the Colfax Rebekah Lodge 7, Oxford and she would have received her 50 year Jewel this year. She taught school for 35 years having taught in Kolbec, Beckwith and Oxford Elementary School where she taught school until her retirement in 1980. She was an avid gardener and a lover of pets. Surviving are her son, Alan W. Fahey (Vicki), Tatamagouche, Colchester Co.; daughter, Jeanette M. Turner (David), Calgary, Alta.; also surviving are grandchildren, Susanne M. Turner, Lawrencetown; David V. Fahey (Dianne), Chatham, Ont.; Timothy D. Boutilier, Grande Prairie, Alta.; Shawnee J. Cooper (Shawn), Dartmouth; Sheana V. Boutilier, Calgary, Alta.; Avard A. Fahey, Halifax; Christina J. Fahey, Tatamagouche, Colchester Co.; great-grandchildren, Chad, Quinn, Delaney, Kevin and Jaymee; brother, Mr. H. Alonzo Fahey, Mount Pleasant Road, Cumberland Co.; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, H. Vaughn Fahey in 1990; sister, Mrs. E. Marie Wells. Visitation will be this afternoon and this evening in Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, where the Colfax Rebekah Lodge 7 will hold a tribute service at 7 p.m. this evening, with funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, in the funeral home, Rev. Kevin Smith officiating. Burial will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.
