Hello T:

I have information on Lavinia Embree but seem to have nothing other than
what you have written on Alexander D MacInnes. Alex might well have left
Cape Breton to try mining in Cumberland County in the late 1870s and 1880s.
There were mines in Inverness County as well and you can find other
Inverness, Cape Breton connections to the Springhill, Cumberland County
area.

Here's what I have on the EMBREE connection:

Descendants of Robert Embree

1 Robert Embree b: 1800
.. +Isabella Ripley b: 1813 Oxford, Cumberland, NS m: 08 October 1840 River
Phillip, Cumberland, NS d: 01 November 1875 Roslin, Cumberland, NS
......... 2 Charles Rufus Embree b: 11 August 1841 River Phillip,
Cumberland, NS
............. +Martha Crawford b: 1844 m: Bef. 1869
.................... 3 Clifford Clarence Embree b: 07 July 1869 Gray's Road,
Cumberland, NS
......... *2nd Wife of Charles Rufus Embree:
............. +Annie Chisholm m: 10 November 1891 West Hansford, Cumberland,
NS
......... 2 Lavinia Embree b: 01 September 1842 Hansford, Cumberland, NS
............. +Alexander D MacInnes b: 1855 Cape Breton, NS m: 07 January
1883 Cumberland County, NS d: 1921 Roslin, Cumberland, NS
......... 2 Sylvester Embree b: 03 March 1845 River Phillip, Cumberland, NS
d: 03 May 1914 Oxford, Cumberland, NS

> Alexander D. McInnes was born in Cape Breton, NS in 1854, died in 1921 and
is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Oxford, NS. He was the son of Angus
McInnes and Annie(McCaloren sp?) McInnes, He was a farmer and a Catholic at
Roslin, River Philip. He married Lavinia Embree on Jan 7, 1883 in
Cumberland Co. What I am looking for is information on his parents if he
had siblings, where they lived in Cape Breton and when they arrived. And if
anyone knows what the correct spelling for Annie MaCaloren might be?
