Hope this may add a small bit to your records of the descendants of
Alexander Gordon and Margaret Scott. Daniel Chisholm Gordon, son of Simon
Gordon, married Mabel Thompson, who was a first cousin of my mother. Dan
and Mabel had a son Edwin and two daughters, Jean and Margaret. I was in
the same Oxford High School class as Margaret, who would be about my age
(born 1923). Jean and Edwin were a year or so older. I lost touch with them
many years ago, but I suspect and hope that some of them are still living.
Dan and his brother Alex (Alexander A.)were honorable, rugged men of average
stature and I remember them well. They were Protestants. I have no further
information regarding Alexander Gordon's family but I do have the lineage of
Mabel Thompson back to Richard Thompson, the first settler of Oxford in
