At Salt Springs on Jan 15th to Mr. & Mrs. Eldred BEST - a daughter.
OBIT - Carr Thompson WOOD
On January 9th the home of Mr. & Mrs. Herman WOOD was deeply saddened,
when their darling baby, Carr Thompson was called away at the early age
of 5 months, 12 days, after a very brief illness. When taken ill
everything possible was done but in spite of all that earthly hands
could do, he was called to a greater beyond.
A sorrowing mother and father are left to mourn the loss of their
darling baby.
The funeral service took place on Wed 2:30 pm, Rev. W.E. SCOTT conducted
the service, speaking most comforting to the sorrowing parents and
friends.
The hymns sung were: Does Jesus Care When He Cometh, Shall We Meet
Beyond the River.
The little one was laid to rest in Pine Grove Cemetery.

OBIT - Henry GUILDERSON
Henry GUILDERSON died at his residence, Upper Main Street, after a brief
illness at the age of 82 years, Jan 10th, Parrsboro.
The late Mr. GUILDERSON for a number of years resided in Diligent River
where he was engaged in farming.
He is survived by two sons, Clarence, Parrsboro and John, Oldtown, Me.,
and five daughters.

**Celebrate Golden Wedding Day.
Mr. & Mrs. James N. BENJAMIN of Pugwash celebrated their golden wedding
anniversary on Dec 28th at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Ethel
GABRIEL, 188 Dean Street, Taunton, Mass., with a family reunion dinner
followed by a reception and their many friends in the evening.
Mr. & Mrs. James N. BENJAMIN were married at Bridgewater, N.S. on Dec
28th, 1872 by Rev. Stephen MARCH. They took up housekeeping immediately
afterwards at Pugwash, where they have since remained.
Nine children were born to them, seven of whom are living, including
Mrs. Gertie EILLIOTT of Vancouver
Mrs. Ida KNOWLES of Attleboro, Mass
Mrs. Fannie CAMERON of Edmonton,
Mrs. May MARK of Uxbridge, Mass
Mrs. Ethel GABRIEL of Taunton, Mass
Miss Flo BENJAMIN, RN of Boston and
Arthur BENJAMIN on the old home place at Pugwash.
Two other sons, Sergt. Erle and Private Estey, enlisted early in the war
in the5th C. M. Rifles and were killed in action, the latter at the
battle of the Hooge in the first Somme offensive and the former while
tiring to capture a German pill box at Passchendale. Both men were
cited for bravery.
Mrs. BENJAMIN received a beautiful amethyst brooch, set with pearls and
diamonds and Mr. BENJAMIN, a gold watch chain in gifts from the family.
The couple received many expressions of good will.
