**DEATH
The remains of the late Murdock NICOLSON of Gulf Shore were laid to rest
in St. Andrews Cemetery on Friday morning, Sept 9th. Mr. NICOLSON spent
the last few years with his family in Boston, Mass, where he passed
away. His wife, Miss Linnie COULTER of Six Mile Road predeceased him, a
large family of sons and daughters survive. The daughters, Mrs. RHYDER
and Miss Ellen NICOLSON accompanied the remains to Fox Harbor, Rev. J.R.
MILLAR of Pugwash attended Mr. NICOLSON was 78 years of age.


WEDDING BELLS -LANGILLE - REID
A social event took place at St. James Presbyterian Church, Oxford n
Thursday, Sept 8th, which caused much local interest, when Rev. Geo. R.
KYLE united in marriage Ethel Louise, eldest daughter of Councillor and
Mrs. S.J. REID and H. Russell LANGILLE of Tatamagouche, N.S.
The bride was attired in a navy blue travelling sit, with a hat of
contracting colors, and carried a large bouquet of bridal roses and
maiden hair fern. Miss Laina HEWSON played the wedding march, while the
bride entered the Church, leaning on the arm of her father.
Misses Grace HIGHET and Ruby SUTHERLAND were ushers. After the ceremony
the guests repaired to the home of the bride’s parents, where a dainty
luncheon was served.
The happy couple left on the Maritime for a short trip through the
Province.
The bride and groom are both well known in Oxford and vicinity. Mr.
LANGILLE being formerly an employee in the Bank of Nova Scotia, and is
now on the staff of the Bank of Commerce at Moose Jaw, where Mr. & Mrs.
LANGILLE will take up their residence

OBIT - Daniel M. MATTINSON
At the home of B. N. MATTINSON, Pugwash, N.S. on Sept 12th, his only
brother, Daniel M. MATTINSON passed peacefully away at the age of 76
years. Mr. MATTINSON was a highly respected resident of Springhill for
over 30 years. After his wife’s death two years ago, he sold his home
in Springhill and went West to live with his daughters; he has been in
poor health for a number of years. Feeling his earthly life was soon to
close, he wished to come back to Nova Scotia, his native Province. In
July his daughter brought him back to Pugwash.
He was a valued member of the Methodist church for upwards of 50 years,
also a member of the K of P. lodge in Springhill. Besides a brother he
leaves two daughters, Mrs. J.R. O”ROURKE of Medicine Hat, Alberta and
Mrs. Alex. M. REID, Invergordon, Sask to mourn the loss of a kind and
indulgent father, also a large circle of relatives and friends, who
loved him. He was a brother of the late Isaac MATTINSON and Uncle of W.
E. MATTINSON, Miss Mary KING and Mrs. E. B. MacDOUGALL of this town.
Funeral will take place Thursday at 2 pm. Interment at Pine Grove
Cemetery.
Another friend has passed away
A friend we love so dear
A vacancy is in our midst
Which never can be filled.

The remains of the late Daniel M. MATTINSON arrived in motor driven
hearse of F. M. BROWN from Pugwash on Thursday afternoon. Nineteen
delegates from the Springhill Knights of Pythias and members of the
Oxford Lodge were present at the funeral service held in the Oxford
Methodist Church. Rev. J. W> O”BRIEN conducting the service. Brothers of
the order were pallbearers.


DEATH
Elihu WOODWORTH Dies Suddenly
Parrsboro, N.S. Sept 6
The death of Elihu WOODWORTH, one of Parrsboro’s most prominent
citizens, occurred suddenly this afternoon at his residence at the age
of 79 years. He was a native of Grand Pre. For many years he was
engaged in literary work and contributed largely to periodicals on
various subjects of the day, his activities in this line ceasing only a
few months ago.


**OBIT - Murdock NICHLSON
The many friends in Fox Harbor and vicinity heard with much regret of
the death of Mr. Mudock NICOLSON at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. P.
RHYDER of Brockton, Mass on Sept 2nd, 1921 at the age of 78 years. Mr.
NICOLSON was born on Gulf Shore, Cumb Co. His wife was formerly, Miss
Linnie COULTER of Six Mile Road. He resided on the homestead at Gulf
Shore, known as the Conor Murdoch Farm. They had a family of 12
children, all living except one son, Harry, who passed away in his youth
and sleeps in St. Andrews Cemetery beside his mother, who predeceased
her husband 20 years ago.
A few years ago he removed to USA where his family are all located
frequently visiting his homeland, where he always received a “Highland
Welcome”. His son Murdock resides in Seattle, Wash. Daniel Kempton in
Alaska, Mrs. J. VALENTINE, Pawtucket, R. I. Ellen of Brookline, Mass,
William in New York, John in San Francisco, Cal, Mrs. E. P. RHYDER in
Brockton, Mass, Charles in Brockton, Mass, Mrs. Charles CARTER, Los
Angles, Cal, Oswald in Brookline, Maine, Stanley in Winnipeg, Man., Mrs.
P. RHYDER and Miss Ellen NICOLSON accompanied the remains to Fox Harbor.

The funeral service was held at the home of his brother-in-law, Mr.
Henry COULTER of Wallace Station. Conducted by the Rev. J.R. MILLAR,
pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Pugwash. A large number of
relatives and friends gathered at St. Andrews cemetery to meet the
procession and show their respect for the deceased and sympathy for the
bereaved. Mr. James MOODY and Mrs. Ernest PURDY of North Wallace are
nephew and niece of the deceased.
