RUSHTON, Bertha Jenny - 70, Truro, formerly of Lower Debert, died March 23, 2002, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Hughie Ray and Sarah Abigal ( Rushton) Boss. She owned and operated a diner in Lower Debert. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 106, Debert, where she was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Dart Team. She enjoyed bowling, playing darts and cards. She is survived by sister, Hilda Gilroy, Springhill; special friends, Marilyn Dykens, Lower Debert; Millie Taylor, Truro; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, James Howard "Junior" Rushton; brothers, Robert Boss and Raymond Boss. Visitation 10- 11 a.m. Tuesday, Legion tribute service and funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, all in Erskine United Church, Glenholme, Rev. Donald MacQueen officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Burial at a later date in Middle Road Cemetery. Donations may be made to Erskine United Church or a charity of choice.
