Obit: McALONEY, Ellenora Winnifred

McALONEY, Ellenora Winnifred - Aged 73 years, of 133 Bancroft Road, Walton, Hants Co., and formerly of Springhill, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2001, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, N.S. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late George William "Dusty" and Charlotte (Kempt) Goldrich. She was a past member of the Springhill Legion; she enjoyed dancing, bingo, darts, knitting, crocheting dresses for dolls, sitting in her sugar shack watching hummingbirds and her family. She is survived by a son, Richard McAloney of Halifax; daughter, Dorothy (Alfred) Snow of Halifax; a brother, John Goldrich of Ontario; a sister, Charlotte Hunter of Springhill; and half-sister, Jeannette (Roy) Teed of Springhill; five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Her companion, Kenneth Gould of Walton, Hants Co., NS. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Chipman McAloney; a brother, Arthur; a sister, Georgina. Visitations will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today (Friday) from the A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill from where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2001, with The Reverend Brent MacDonald officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, at a later date. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
