Hi Agian:

11 June 1914

WEDDING - GILLESPIE - HARRISON
An exceedingly pretty wedding was celebrated in the Presbyterian Church,
Maccan on Tuesday afternoon, June 2nd, between the Rev. WILLIAM MURDOCK
GILLESPIE, B.A., the minister of the Presbyterian Church, River Hebert
& Miss HELEN CORIDINE HARRISON, youngest daughter of JEPTHA HARRISON,
Esq. of Maccan. The officiating clergyman being the Rev. JOHN URWIN
BELL, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Cunard. The bride was attired
in a beautiful white charmeuse silk dress with trimmings of white ninon
& bridal veil wreathed with orange blossoms.

OBIT - Lockeport, N.S.- June 5th.
Lockeport has witnessed many a sea sorrow, but none of that touched the
hearts of her people more than did the funeral of Mrs. H.F. DUNLEVY (
formerly Miss GRACE FISKE) one of the victims of the EMPRESS of IRELAND
tragedy, as her body was borne through the streets of this town today to
her last resting place in the quiet cemetery at Lydgate. The service
was held at Holy Cross at 4 o'clock. Rev. D. V. WARNER of Shelburne
officiating. Among the relatives present were the husband of the
deceased, H.F. DUNLEVY of Denver, Colorado. Mrs. A.H. FISKE, mother,
Miss GLADYS FISKE & Mrs. C.H. JACKMAN, sisters. FRANK FISKE, E.W. FISKE
& H. FISKE, brothers. Mr. COLIN LOCKE & E. W. LOCKE.
The floral tributes were numerous & beautifully expressing the sympathy
of friends far & near. The pallbearers were JOHN PAYZANT, EUGENE LOCKE,
ARCHIBALD CROWELL & ALBERT CROWELL.
The service at the church was exceptionally affecting and will long be
memorable to those who attended Mr. WARNER in a sermon touching and
beautifully expressed the great hope of immortality and the consolation
to God's wonderful love. The hyms were chosen with special
appropriateness, the following comprising the choral part of the serive
- "God moves in a Mysterious way His wonders to perform", "Peace be
Still", "Lead Kindly Light", & "Peace Perfect Peace". There was a short
impressive service at the graveside.
To the great number who attended it seemed increditable that they should
be listening to the funeral service of one, who, a few days befor left
her home in the fullness of life for a short trip abroad. As the solemn
procession moved away from the church to the cemetery it was realized
that the terrible calamity which had befallen the country had come very
severly to this town, when it called one of its fairest daughters to be
a part of the tragedy.
The deceased was a woman of an exceptionally loveable disposition and
her untimely end will long leave a vacant place in the hearts of those
who knew her, even outside her large family circle.
