McCULLY, Lorne B. - 82, North Head Grand Manan, N.B., died December 9, 2000, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Port Greville, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late Seymour
and Maude (Ells) McCully. He began his career going to sea at a young age on sailing vessels plying the Minas Basin, the Bay of Fundy and the east coast of the United States. Later he was employed for many years as chief engineer on the Grand Manan Ferries from which he retired. He and his wife Stella owned and operated Lorne's Store in North Head for many years. For the past nine years he was a part-time resident of Parrsboro. Surviving are his companion, Margie Manning, Parrsboro; chosen daughter, Patty Wood and family, North Head Grand Manan; sisters, Carrie Legère, Amherst; Ruby Allen, Fox River; Gertrude Newcomb, Parrsboro; Meaurita Hahnen, New Glasgow; brothers, Murray, Dartmouth; Wilford, Westville, N.B. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Stella Stanley; brothers, Harold, Brenton, Thornton, Emerson, Truman; sisters, Gleta, Bertha, Winnifred.
Funeral was held Wednesday in Wesleyan United Church, North Head. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or any charity. Arrangements entrusted to Ells Funeral Home, Grand Harbour, N.B.

McCULLY, Emerson F. - 99, Ward's Brook, Cumberland Co., died Tuesday, November 30, 1999, in South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Ward's Brook, he was a son of the late Semore and Maude (Ells) McCully. He was a retired seaman, shipbuilder and lumberman.
He is survived by daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Jenkins, Parrsboro; daughter-in -law, Laura Smith, Barrie, Ont.; brother, Lorne, Parrsboro; sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Newcombe, Parrsboro; Mrs. Carrie Legere, Amherst; Mrs. Marita Hannah, Springhill; Mrs. Ruby Allen, Fox River; granddaughters, Debbie Ellis, Brandon McCully, Erin McCully, Jackie Jenkins; grandsons, Larry McCully; David Jenkins; great granddaughters, Brittany McCully, Leslie Stoneham; great-grandsons, Jimmy Ellis, Clinton Stoneham; several nieces and nephews, including Rev. Jean Simms-Mills, and husband Gerry, Fraserville with whom he lived periodically for several years. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Ruby MacGillivary; sisters, Winnie and Gleta; sons, Stewart and Morris; brother, Brenton; grandson, Morris. Visitation today (Thursday) 10 a.m.-12 noon and 2-4 p.m., in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral will be held 4 p.m. today, Rev. James Bushell officiating. Burial in the Port Greville United Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
