BROWN (Tully), Muriel Dorothy - It is with deep regret and sorrow that the family announces her death in Markham/Stouffville Hospital, Markham, Ont., on October 3, 2000, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her goodness leaves a legacy of
decency and tenderness which triumphs over the ugly illness that took her from us. Muriel was born September 17, 1916, in Leicester, the daughter of the late Clarence and Dorothy (Shipley) Tully. She moved from Amherst to Stouffville, Ont., in 1964, but always retained a deep love and was a staunch and loyal defender of all things Nova Scotian. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Warren Matthew Brown in 1980 and son, Wade Leroy Brown in 1974; sister, Elsie; brothers, Layton and
Harvey. She is survived by and leaving to mourn, her loving children, son, Warren and wife Doris, Truemanville; daughter, Winnfred (Nicholson) and husband Robert, Pugwash; daughter, Cheryl (Bowles) and husband David, Ajax, Ont.; son, Terrance
and wife Dorothy, Amherst; son, Clarence and wife Bonnie, Nestleton, Ont.; son, Robin, New Markey, Ont.; daughter, April, Sunderland, Ont. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Darren, Melody, Crystal, Aarren, Caitlin, Dommhull, Laura, Lisa,
Trevor, Terrance, Sandra, Nathan, Jason, Garrett, Charlotte, Colleen, Jessica and Alexander. Lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren, Adam, Carl, Alisia, Carey, Valerie, Vanessa, Robert, Juston, Madison, Lillian, Naomi, Edward, Anastasia.
Survived by sister, Annis Thompson, Pugwash; sister-in-law, Edith Brown, Amherst. Leaving a large circle of loving friends, nieces and nephews. A memorial was held in the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home in Markham. Her cremated remains have been sent to
Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst where visiting hours will be held Saturday from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in Cumberland Memorial Chapel, Amherst on Sunday at 2 p.m., Rev. Ivan Blakney officiating. Burial will follow in the Amherst
Cemetery beside her husband, Warren in their beloved Nova Scotia soil. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Highland View Regional Hospital Foundation.
