DYKENS, Mildred Leteita - 82, 597 Masstown Rd., Debert, passed away peacefully at home on July 22, 2000, surrounded by her family. Born in Great Village, she was a daughter of Clark and Sarah (Kerr) Eagles. She enjoyed travelling and lunches at the mall. She was an avid knitter and enjoyed playing cards and the outdoors. To her family and friends, she will always be lovingly known as "Gram". She is survived by sons, James (Marilyn), Gerald (Linda), Owen (Audrey), all of Debert; daughters, Ellen (Mrs. George Fancey), McCallum Settlement; Karen (Mrs. Floyd Roode), Ferne, both
at home; Marlene Burns, Digby. She was the proud grandmother of 20 and the great-grandmother of 27, and a great-great-grandmother of five. She was predeceased by her husband, George Leslie Dykens; brother, Cecil Eagles; grandson, Jason Dykens. No visitation by request. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 25, at 4 p.m. in Middle Road Cemetery, Debert, Rev. Don MacQueen officiating. A reception will follow in Royal Canadian Legion, Debert, for family and friends.
Donations may be made to the VON or Middle Road Cemetery, Debert. Arrangements entrusted to Mattatall Funeral Home, Truro.
