Burke, Edith F. obit

Burke, Edith F. - 82, of Mount Pleasant, Cumberland Co.,
formerly of Springhill, died, September 14, 1999, in Mount
Pleasant Lodge. Born in Joggins, Cumberland Co., she
was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Anna Bell (Tower)
Fitzgerald. She was a registered C. N. A., working in the
nursing profession for twenty-two years before retiring in
1982. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters, Springhill;
Collingwood Senior Citizens Club and the Ladies Auxiliary,
Springhill Legion, Branch 17. She enjoyed sewing and knitting.
Surviving are daughters, Carol Knox, Port Mouton; Dorothy
Pillar, Prince Albert, Sask.; Barbara Tower, River Philip;
brothers, Elmer, Springhill; Kenneth, Shediac, N.B.; Greg,
Valley Road, Springhill; sisters, Alice Thomas, Danvers,
Mass.; Janice Clingerman, Crossville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren;
13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her ex-husband,
Henry "Mut" Harrison; second husband, Archie Bobbie; and third
husband, Joseph Stanley Burke; son, Arnold; brothers, Norman,
Donald. Cremation has taken place. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday,
in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, 5075 Main St., Oxford, Rev.
Lorraine Lambert officiating, Reception to follow the funeral service.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
