Elizabeth Rodier
Hello there Elizabeth
Greetings from New Zealand
I found this while retyping extracted information from the 1851
Westmorland census. I hope its of some use.
George Phelon. Is he one of yours ????
If you have your own copies of the 1851 census
you can probably take it further than me.
1851 Westmorland Census NB Canada
Extractions from an already extracted photocopy page 19
Photocopy probably sorted alphabetically
HANDWRIGHT page 28
Thomas M H 29 Irish, Carpenter Birth
Albeon F W 25 English Birth
Jane F D 5 Birth
Elijah M S 2 Birth
George Phelon M 16 English, Apprentice Birth
Alfred Chappell M 19 English , Apprentice Birth
For your Information
Albeon died in childbirth with No. 4 in 1854
(I have documented dates etc.)
Soon thereafter Thomas " farmed out" the children to relatives
and left.
Thomas ended up here in NZ and married again in 1874
Perhaps George & Alfred's apprentiships either ended or
were terminated.
Here in NZ apprentices were regularly passed to another master
to complete or finish their apprentiship.
