OBITUARY: Henwood, Hazel
At the age of 93, Hazel Henwood passed away on May 29, 2017, in Saint
Vincent's Nursing Home. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late
Whitney and Effie Redmond. Hazel, better known as Dolly, had a great sense
of humour and lived to laugh and listen to her music; her most loved singer
being Charlie Pride. She had a strong sense of hard work and could cook a
meal like no other - having lots of practice as a camp cook back in the
woods. If she wasn't cleaning and stirring with spoons, she was playing
them to all her favorite songs. She will be loved and sadly missed by her
daughter, Marilyn (Ivan) Babineau; her sister, Catherine Meredith; her
brothers, Aubrey Redmond, Richard (Shirley) Redmond, Charlie (Marie)
Redmond; and her grandchildren, Gerald (Josephine) Babineau, Ross Robinson
(Kim Hawkes) and Kelly (Danny) Lake; six great-grandchildren, three
great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Hedley
Henwood; and brothers, Bud and Doug Redmond. Cremation will take place May
31, and there will be a graveside service in her hometown at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in remembrance of Hazel Henwood can be made to
