Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
It is with sadness that the family of Sherman Orland Black age 84 of Amherst
formerly of River Philip, announce his passing on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at
the Dartmouth General Hospital, NS.
Born in Springhill, he was the son of late Robie Black.
Sherman worked hard throughout his life, including 15 years for Cumberland
Paving, now known as the Miller Group. He spent many years mowing lawns,
which was both a business and a hobby. Sherman loved the freedom and quiet
of nature. He also loved joining his friends at the coffee shop.
Sherman will be fondly remembered by his wife Judy (Rose); son Daniel
(Stephanie) of Truro, Terry of Springhill, step-children Todd Paris of
Manitoba, Julie Paris (Jimmy) of Amherst and Trevor Rose of Halifax; step-
grandson Alexander Paris; brother in-law Tim (Brenda) Martin and sister
in-law Kelly Martin.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 29, 2017 from 7 9 p.m. followed by
the Funeral Service, held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 2 p.m. all held in
Campbell¹s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 902-667-9906.
Donations can be made in Sherman¹s memory to the Salvation Army or to the
charity of your choice.
