OBITUARY: YUILL-FLETCHER, Christa Elaine
October 7, 1968 - May 11, 2017. It is with deep sadness that we, the family,
announce the passing of Christa after a courageous battle with cancer.
Christa passed away at home with her mother and brother by her side. Christa
is survived by her mother, Linda Yuill (Terris) and her father, Chris Yuill
(Diane); her beloved brother, Kevin (Cheryl Kidd); adored niece, Kate;
nephew, Max; nanny, Joan Terris; aunts, Sandy MacKinnon (David), Brenda
Bullerwell (Scott), Velva Steward; uncle, Terry Terris (Kelly). Christa was
married to Corey Fletcher for over nine years and loved the whole Fletcher
family; Owen, Karen (Tom), Alice, Kelly, Kim and their children. Christa's
family also extended to many cousins and their spouses. There was enough
love for all. Christa worked part-time for many years at the Lantz Group
Home supporting adults with disabilities. She loved the residents and staff.
Robin and Denise were advocates for Christa when she was no longer to
advocate for herself. We thank you all. Christa joined the World Financial
Group in 2010 and enjoyed this immensely. Her colleagues became treasured
friends and the memories from the various trips, seminars and training
events were some of her fondest memories. We thank you all for supporting
Christa through her journey. As Christa's illness was diagnosed and we began
to have a close relationship with the various hospital professionals there
was so much kindness from so many levels. Particular thanks goes out to Dr.
David Haase for his tender spirit and encouragement. Christa was so grateful
for you. As time went on, Dr. Marie Laryea and Dr. Kevork Peltekian met with
Christa weekly to facilitate her comfort. Thank you for your commitment and
gentle approach as she came to terms with her disease. The VON and
Palliative Care Team came regularly as time went on and we were so grateful
to see your friendly, cheerful faces every day. Thank you for your care and
attention to Christa's needs. Despite many challenges, Christa's life was
filled with happiness and joy. She greeted every day with anticipation as
she fought the cancer that invaded her body. She was so very brave and we
will miss and honour her forever. Some people make a difference just by
being who they are. Their inner light shines bright and touches lives both
near and far. And even when they're gone, they still forever play a part,
in the smiles, the priceless moments that are treasured in the heart.
Christa was one of those people. Cremation has taken place. At Christa's
request, no service will take place.
