Croyden Grant Wood

Wood, Croyden        Grant, 76 years of age, of Parrsboro, NS,        passed away on April 27, 2017 after a courageous three year battle        with pancreatic cancer. He showed tremendous strength, endurance and        determination. He was an inspiration to all that knew and loved        him.  Born in Parrsboro, N.S. he was a son of the late Roy        & Effie (Hatfield) Wood.

He enjoyed many hobbies; fishing,        hunting, curling, snowmobiling, reading, restoring several old cars        and going to his favorite spot, to the "camp" in the meadow.        He has been a member of the Fundy Shore Auto Club, FORCE Community        Liaison Committee, Parrsboro Harbour Commission, Canadian Coast Guard        Search & Rescue, Parrsboro Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a        welder by trade, worked as a carpenter, boat builder, lobster        fisherman, Stevedore, Harbour Pilot, Wharfinger in Parrsboro Harbour        and farmed blueberries. Croyden will always be remembered and forever        loved.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years,        Frances (Gilroy), daughter, Patty (Jesse) , sons, Arnold (Janet) all        of Parrsboro, Bentley (Paula)of Porters Lake,  daughter in        law, Tanya, of Parrsboro; ten grandchildren, Lee, Angela, Stevely,        Bradly, Jonathan, Kevin, Ryan, Amy, Grant & Keith; 8 great        grandchildren, Devin, Jasmin, Ethan, Connor, Luke, Colin, Caden and        Ruby; brothers, Donnie, Owen, David; sisters, Sylvia, Mary, Nancy;        many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased        by his sons, Croyden Jr and Michael in 2012, brothers, Reginald,        George, Murray, Arden & Roy.

Cremation has taken place under the        direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home,        70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). A time of remembrance will        be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch  45 , Morris        St., Parrsboro, NS on May 2, 2017 from 11 am - 2 p.m.. Burial to take        place in the St. George Anglican Cemetery at a later        date.

Should friends desire, memorial        contributions may be made to the Moncton City Hospital Oncology Dept.        or the CRHCC Palliative Care.
