Higgins, Gerald E. - 75, Wentworth, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash. Born in North Greenville, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late Frank and Winifred (Pettigrew) Higgins. Gerald worked in the construction industry for most of his career, retiring with Dexters. He enjoyed woodworking and loved being around his family. He is survived by his companion of over 32 years, Beryl Lynds; daughter, Liz (Rick); sisters, Beryl Ross; Ann (Delbert) Williams; brother, Ed (Bonnie); step children, Garth, Sheila, Geraldine, Marsha and Paul; He was predeceased by sisters, Joan and Heather; brother, Leroy. Gerald's family will receive visitors from 6-8 pm, Thursday, April 27 in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, 14067 Hwy. 4, Wentworth (902-447-2930). Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 28 in Wentworth Baptist Church, Wentworth. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
