Collingwood, Cumberland Co., formerly of Springhill, died May 8, 1998 in All
Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the
late Allison and Catherine (Matheson) Langille. She was an avid bingo player
and enjoyed her family life and friends. Surviving are her former husband,
Frederick William Carde, Springhill, sons, Gary, Frederick, Collingwood;
Douglas, Ballinafad, Ont.; James, Mississauga, Ont.; David, Newmarket, Ont.;
daughter, Catherine Colwill, Mississauga; brothers, Richard, Barrie, Ont.;
Douglas, Burlington, Ont.; half-brother James Bowlsby, British Columbia;
sister, Janice Woitas, Newmarket; half-sisters, Dianne, Catherine, British
Columbia; 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased
by her companion, James Oliver David Carde; brother, James. Cremation has
taken place under the direction of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill.
Graveside committal service 2 p.m. Monday in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill,
Rev. Frank Likely officiating. Donations to any charity. This obituary

CARDE, Frederick William "Ted" - 85, Black Street, Springhill, passed away
on Thursday, August 4, 2005, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre,
Nappan. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Frederick Patrick and
Mildred (Chapman) Carde. He served overseas with the Canadian Armed Forces
and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 17, for 45 years.
Ted enjoyed socializing and fishing. He is survived by sons, Gary Carde,
Collingwood; Frederick (Catherine) Carde, Wyvern, Cumberland Co., and
Douglas (Vivian) Carde, Ballinafad, Ont.; daughter, Catherine (Raymond)
Coldwell, Ontario; brother, Earl (Muriel) Carde, Florida; sisters, Georgina
(Elmer) Fitzgerald, Springhill; Marjorie "Midge" Grant, Springhill Junction;
Sharon Stonehouse, Westchester; Jean Thomas, Toronto, Ont.; daughter-in-law,
Sharon Carde, Springhill; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, James; sisters,
Agnes, Annie, Gladys, Doris, and Alice. Cremation has taken place. A
visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. this afternoon followed immediately by
a memorial service at 3 p.m. with Rev. Glenn Eason officiating, both being
held in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill. Burial in Hillside Cemetery,
Springhill. If so desired, donations to a charity of choice would be
appreciated.
