Annabelle Ruby Russell

Obituary

(nee Bradford) It is with great sadness and heavy hearts the family
announces the passing of a most giving mother and phenomenal 'NANA'.
Annabelle Ruby Russell, born November 14, 1938 in Mill Bank, New Brunswick,
passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 31, 2014, with her family
by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Annabelle devoted her
life to taking care of her beloved husband of 48 years William "Billy"
Russell, and their five daughters, ensuring that the family home was filled
with much love and laughter. Mom never longed for a son as she had 5
son-in-laws whom she held close to her heart. Annabelle took great pleasure
and pride in preparing homemade meals to share with family and friends; her
home was open to all. Our Mom's true passion in life and greatest source of
pride was her all consuming love for her grandchildren and great
grandchildren. 'Nana' had the exceptional gift of giving her whole heart
unconditionally to her grandchildren. She was actively involved and a
binding thread woven into the daily lives of her daughters and her
grandchildren. Annabelle is survived by her 5 daughters: Debbie (Keith)
Stiles (Port Elgin), Linda (Lawrence Sr.) Cordoni, Donna McMahon (Randy
Downey) (Niagara Falls), Karen Stover and Brenda (Tony) Di Franco. She will
be forever missed by her 11 loving grandchildren: Crystal Young, Paul
(Pamela) Weatherby, Stephanie Stiles, Lawrence Jr. and Laura-Lea Cordoni,
Derek (Jillian) and Casey McMahon, Gordon (Julianna) and Colin Stover,
Nathan and Noah Di Franco, 7 great-grandchildren: Morgan and Zackary Young,
Danielle and Rachel Cordoni, Jasmine and Jake Weatherby and Braden McMahon.
Survived also by her sisters Dorothy Breau, Pearl Clark, Beulah Durocher,
Vernica Comeau, brother Ronald Bradford, many nieces and nephews and her
four-legged companion 'Misty'. Annabelle was predeceased by her loving
husband William "Billy" Russell, son-in-law Lindsay Stover, parents Harold
and Josephine Bradford and siblings Blair Vye, Florence Cormie, Leona
Malley, Arthur Bradford, Ada Woodard and Norma Basque. Funeral services for
Annabelle Russell will be held on Friday September 5, 2014 at 11:00AM in the
WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 W. Gore St. at James, with Pastor David Stezenko
officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30AM
until the time of the service. If friends so desire, donations to the
Northern Cancer Fund would be greatly appreciated. Mom we knew little that
evening, God was going to call your name In life we loved you dearly, in
death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you; you did not go alone;
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us
peaceful memories; your love is still our guide; And although we cannot see
you, you are ALWAYS at our side. Please sign the online condolences at
