MELANSON (Dow), Mary Elizabeth - 97, died September 26, 2004, at home. Born
on Glasgow Mountain, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Annie
(Kendrick) Dow. Surviving are sons, Leon, Ernest, Malcolm, David; daughters,
Ada, Anne, Kathleen, Marguerite, Evelyn, Marion; 24
grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins. She was
predeceased by husband, ***Joseph Richard Melanson***; two son-in-laws; four
brothers; four sisters. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, parish prayers at 8
p.m. in Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral 2 p.m.
Wednesday in St. Charles Church. Burial to follow in St. Vincent's Catholic
Cemetery, Sackville, N.B.

LEON RICHARD MELANSON February 18, 1934 - August 29, 2008
It is with profound sadness that the family of Leon Richard Melanson
announce his passing on Friday, August 29, 2008 after a courageous and
lengthy battle with lung disease. Leon was born in Sackville, New Brunswick
and it was there he met his wife Jeannine and they started their family. In
1965 they moved to Ontario and Leon continued his work as a conductor on the
railroad. After thirty-five years of service, Leon retired and moved to
Calgary, Alberta to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Leon
worked for Borger Construction from 1990 to 1995. Leon and Jeannine started
living their dream in 1994 when they began travelling throughout the U.S.
and Canada, spending the next ten years living full time in their R.V. He
leaves to mourn his loving wife of fifty-two years Jeannine Lorraine
Melanson (Cormier), his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Robert Borger of
Calgary, AB; his son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Linda Melanson of
Jasper, AB; five grandchildren, Tyler, Kirk and Amber Borger and Carly and
Dayna Melanson; nine brothers and sisters, Ada (Hal) Ramsay, Anne Kent,
Kathleen (Joseph) Estabrooks, Marguerite (Elbert) White, Ernest (Barbara)
Melanson, Evelyn (George) Ayer, Marion Locy, Malcolm (Rose) Melanson and
David Melanson; brother-in-law, Adlard Cormier; and sisters-in-law, Audrey
Cormier and Loretta Cormier; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Leon
was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Mary (nee Dow) Melanson. A
Celebration of Leon's Life will be held at St. Vincent's Catholic Church
(Sackville, NB) on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service

It is with sadness that the family of Ernest James Melanson (Ernie) announce
his passing after a short battle with cancer at the age of 69 years. Ernie
Melanson of Pembroke, beloved husband for 44 years to Barbara Melanson (nee
Maahs). Much loved father of Greg (Celine), Jamie (Jeannine) and Rob. Loving
poppa to Gavin, Nolan, Kaitlin and Matthew. Predeceased by his parents
Richard and Mary (nee Dow) Melanson, Sackville NB and by brother Leon.
Survived by siblings Ada (Hal) Ramsay, Anne Kent (late John), Kathy (Joseph)
Estabrooks, Marguerite (Elbert) White, Evelyn (George) Ayer, Marion (late
Oscar) Locy, Malcolm (Rose) Melanson and David Melanson. Also survived by
mother-in-law Bernadette Maahs, in-laws Terry and Gale Maahs, and Katherine
and Harold Dodwell, sister-in-law Jeannine Melanson as well as many nieces
and nephews. Friends are invited to share their memories of Ernie with his
family during memorial visitation at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella
Street, Pembroke on Sunday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. and after 11:30 a.m. on
Monday. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday May 27 at 1:00 p.m. in
the Church of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, Pembroke. Private Interment at a
later date. Cremation has taken place. In memory of Ernie donations to the
