It’s known that William Francis Norris Desmond of Parrsboro died 10 May 1980 in New Bedford, Mass.
I was recently sent this obit (below) by someone who wishes to remain anonymous.
Would anyone on the list be able to confirm this by a marriage record etc?

I think I've found his second wife, whom he married after moving to New Bedford, MA and divorcing Phyllis Graham Desmond (later Hiltz). I don't know if you've seen this record previously and am curious if you think it is a match. It's from South Coast Today, New Bedford, MA 22 July 1997. I've copied and pasted it below. It does not look like he had any more children.
NEW BEDFORD -- Mary Lillian (Pidgeon) Desmond, 81, of Melville Towers died Monday, July 21, 1997, at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the widow of William N. Desmond, who died in 1980, and the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Josephine (Melanson) Pidgeon.
A lifelong resident of New Bedford, she was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church.
Before her retirement, she was a sales clerk at Star Store and also worked at Sowle Mill and the Acushnet Co.
Survivors include two sisters, B. Irene Latimer of New Bedford and Ella A. Elek of Orange City, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are by the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County St. A funeral Mass will be said at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua Church.
