Georgina "Georgie" Hicks
1927-2017

It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Georgina
"Georgie" Ethel Hicks, age 89, of Southampton, NS. Georgie passed away
peacefully at Gables Lodge, Amherst on Thursday, March 23, 2017.

Born in Southampton, NS, she was a daughter of the late Lorne and Nellie
(Hannah) Bird.

Georgie was a member of the Southampton United Church; she enjoyed reading,
puzzles, cooking. She loved her family and grandchildren and always looked
forward to time with them.

Georgie will be sadly missed by sons Roger (Margaret) Hicks, Ottawa, ON,
Elden (Linda) Hicks, Amherst and James Hicks, Springhill; daughters Irma
(Roger) McClary, Sackville, NB; 4 grandchildren Andy, Susan, Trina and
Michael; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Lionel E. Hicks; son Allison; the last
surviving member of her immediate family, she was also predeceased by
brother Donald and sisters Annie McMaster and Lillian McKenzie.

Following a private family visitation, cremation took place under the care
and direction of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill,
(902 597 2361). A Graveside Committal service will be held at the New
Cannaan Cemetery in the spring.

If so desired, donations to Georgie's memory may be made to the New Cannaan
Cemetery.
