OBITUARY:
Awalt-Somers, Steven James
Age 63, of Riverton, formerly of Amherst, passed away on March 15, 2017 in
Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late
Calvin Awalt and Dorothy Hirtle. As a boy, Steven grew up in Debert. He
received a Masters degree in Philosophy and Ancient Studies from Mount
Allison University. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Murray, Debert;
Megan Awalt, New Market; Joanne Bennett, Debert; brothers, Donald Awalt,
Port Greville; Robert Awalt, Banff; David Eugene Awalt, Vulcan, Alta.; and
several nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service held in Port
