OBITUARY: Keats, J. James - 73, 20 Gatto St., Dominion, died December 24,
1997, in New Waterford Consolidated Hospital. Born in Dominion, he was a son
of the late Samuel and Frances (Hicks) Keats. He was a member of the
Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd, Dominion. He was an employee of Cape
Breton Development Corp. for over 38 years and retired from the Prince Mine
Colliery in 1985. He was an avid skater and was known for his talent in
skating around the local area. Surviving are his wife, the former Germaine
Greucci; stepson, Hughie, Halifax; sisters, Dora and Mary Ellen (Sis) Keats,
Dominion; two step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; several nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Henry; sisters, Frances Gallant,
Susan Blundon. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m., today in V.J. McGillivray Funeral
Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Funeral 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Church of
the Good Shepherd, Rev. Harold Brown officiating. Burial to follow in Forest
Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations to any charity.
