MARY DODSWORTH (nee KNELSON) (formerly ADAMS) It is with great sadness that
we announce the passing of our dear Aunt on November 17, 2011 at the age of
96 years. Mary will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her numerous
nieces and nephews. She goes to join her dear husband, Stewart Dodsworth;
her precious son, Wally Adams; her parents Mary (nee Sawatzky) and Peter
Knelson, and her siblings, Peter Knelson, Abe Knelson, Kay Dyck, Agatha
Friesen and Nettie Dyck. Mary was born in Herbert, Saskatchewan but lived in
Manitoba for most of her life. She lived in Plum Coulee as a young girl and
at the age of 12 was sent to work in Sommerfeld and fondly referred to her
employers as her second family. As an adult she lived in Altona, Winnipeg
and Winkler. Mary was a talented seamstress with a keen eye for detail. She
was a proud, independent woman who enjoyed gardening, bowling and playing
cards. She liked being busy and always had a project on the go. Special
thanks are extended to the staff at Concordia Place for their care and
compassion during her residency. Funeral Service will be held on November
23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., at Friends Funeral Service Inc., 2146 Main Street,
Winnipeg, Manitoba, with Hugo Unruh officiating. Interment will follow in
the Elmwood Cemetery. Wiebe Funeral Home Altona Ltd. 204-324-5404 in charge
of arrangements.
