Willard D. T. Chapman
1921-2017

It is with sadness that we must announce the passing of Willard D. T.
Chapman, age 96, of Amherst Shore, NS. Willard passed away at the East
Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash on Thursday, March 16, 2017.

Born in Amherst Shore, NS, he was a son of the late Austin W. and Jennie
(Ogden) Chapman.

Willard owned and operated the family farm for a number of years before he
became engaged with Hillwinds Farms (a beef farm operation) for 8 years, and
then went with Linden Lees Farms, from where he retired in 1986.

He will be dearly missed by his son, Douglas (Ferne), Amherst Shore, NS;
grandchildren Sarah (Darryl) Wood, New Glasgow, and David (Laura Shatford),
Truro, NS; great grandsons Joshua and Jackson Wood; brother Allen
(Florence), Amherst Shore, NS.

He was predeceased by his wife Jennie MacDonald; and sister Jenetta (Ronald)
Chappell; nephews Phillip Chapman and David Chappell.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home,
70 Church Street, Amherst from where family and friends are invited to a
time of visitation from 1 until 2 pm, followed immediately by the funeral
service at 2 pm on Sunday, March 19, 2017, Ruth Gamble, DLM officiating.
Burial will take place in the Lorneville United Church Cemetery in the
spring.

Donations in memory of Willard may be made to the Cancer Society or the
Lorneville United Church Cemetery, or charity of your choice.
