Mr. George A. Corbett, 55, widely known Eureka attorney passed away suddenly with a heart attack in the office of County Clerk Fred J. Moore, Jr., Monday morning.
He was a native of Eureka and spent most of his life here except for the years spent at the University of California and Hastings Law School, in training for his profession and in the military service during World War II. He was a member of the Eureka Elks.
Survivors are his wife, Kathryn Corbett; 2 sons, George A. Corbett Jr., and John William Corbett. One sister, Mrs. Irma Jackson. Aunts: Mrs. Emma Dauphiy, Mrs. Laura Nielson of Ferndale, Miss Bertha Fulmore of Ereka. Uncle, Harry I. Corbett of Vancouver. His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence I. and Carrie Louise Corbett.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, May 26, at 3 p.m. at the Pierce Mortuary under the auspices of the Eureka Lodge of Elks. Rev. Bert Weeks officiating. Interment followed at the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Judge Delos Mace, Judge C. L. Christensen, Jr., Irwin T. Quinn, Chester Connick, Don O'Kane, Frank Flaherty. Honorary pallbearers were F. C. Kordan, Jr., Richard C. Huntoon, Dr. John S. Hain, Lloyd Wallace, H. L. Hammond, A. W. Hill, Jr., J. H. Crothers, Frank Craney, Emery Mitchell.
