As I see it, Hazel and John were married in 1930 with issue of two
daughters, Sylvia and Jacqueline. In 1944, John and Kathleen Hoare had issue
of a daughter, Carol. Hazel petitioned for a divorce from John in 1950.

October 28, 1912 ­ March 27, 2008
Pitts, Hilda Spence, 95, Truro, passed away March 27, 2008 at Colchester
Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born 1912, she was the
daughter of the late Thomas and Rebecca (Johnson) Spence, the last surviving
member of her family. She worked at Lewis Hat and Cap Factory in Truro for
many years, later working for National Knits in Toronto for 25 years. She is
survived by her two daughters, Sylvia Burris, Truro, Jacqueline Diamond,
Truro and stepdaughter, Carolyn Pitts, Truro; six grandchildren, ten great
grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. She was predeceased by
four sisters and nine brothers and by grandson, Kevin Diamond. Her favourite
pastime was doing puzzles and spending time with her dog Chelsea, her
beloved and best friend. Cremation has taken place. No visitation by
request. Graveside service and burial to be held at a later date in
Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Alma, with Rev. Lori Ramsey officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the VON, SPCA, Colchester Regional
Hospital or to a charity of choice. Arrangements entrusted to Colchester

Jacqueline Deborah (Burris) Moore
1955-2012

Jacqueline Deborah (Debbie, Jackie) (Burris) Moore ­ 57, East Gore, passed
away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday evening,
August 29, 2012, at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, following a brief
and courageous battle with cancer. Born February 20, 1955, in Truro, she was
a daughter of Sylvia (Pitts) Burris, Truro, and the late James "Jim" Burris.

Debbie worked with G.A. Insurance in Truro for many years and moved with
that company to Halifax, becoming Aviva Insurance, from where she retired in
2010 after 35 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed cross-stitching,
flower gardening, shopping, going to antique car shows and watching the
Nascar races with Steve. Debbie loved her family dearly and looked forward
to looking after Janice¹s grandchildren whenever she could. Also an avid
animal lover, she loved her Rottweilers.

Along with her mother, Debbie is survived by her loving husband, Steve;
sisters, Brenda (Keith) Fisher, Alton, Colchester County; Janice (Harley)
Redmond, Brookfield; brother, James (Leona) Burris, Truro; special aunt,
Jacqueline Diamond, Truro; nieces, Anita, Tawnya, Blair; nephews, Craig,
Colin, Cody; cousins, Karen White, Paul Diamond. Along with her father, she
was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, John and Hilda Pitts; paternal
grandparents, Fred and Lucy Burris; aunt, Carolyn Pitts.

Special thanks are extended to the Palliative Care Team at Colchester
Regional Hospital, especially Dr. Henderson and Ann.

All are welcome to attend a graveside interment service that will be held 2
p.m., Monday, September 3, 2012, in Lower Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pleasant
Valley (Across from Lafarge Cement Plant). Family flowers only. If so
desired, donations in Debbie¹s memory to Palliative Care Unit (Colchester
Regional Hospital) or Canadian Cancer Society are welcomed. Arrangements

Carolyn Anne "Carol" Pitts
1944-2010

Carolyn Anne ³Carol² Pitts ­ 65, Bible Hill. It is with great sorrow the
family of the late Carolyn Pitts announce her passing on Friday, November
19, 2010, at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born December 12, 1944, in
New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late John and Kathleen (Hoare) Pitts.

Carol was the most amazing and loving grandmother, mother, aunt, sister and
friend. Her family meant the world to her, especially her two beautiful
granddaughters, Keona and Keara, and her precious dog, Kaleigh. She was
known for her sense of humour and loved by everyone who met her. She worked
as a sales clerk at Canadian Tire and Hallidays before going to work at
Colchester Correctional Centre until it closed. In 2001, she then went to
work at Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility in Burnside.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Tyra (Todd) Hansen; granddaughters, Keona
and Keara, all of Blackfalds, Alberta; sisters, Sylvia Burris, Jacqueline
Diamond, Truro; Lydia Pitts, North Sydney; brother, John (Lois), Point
Aconi; several nieces and nephews.

No visitation or service by personal request. Private family interment will
be held in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Alma. If so desired, donations in
Carol¹s memory to Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice are welcomed.
