Working on some "Maccan" Hurley's in my file, I believe Vaughan MacAloney's
obit is in the incorrect location in the book, The McAloney Family of North
It's attached to Vaughn Russell McAloney who was born 28 Jan 1927 in New
Salem. 1994 - age 44 = born about 1950, Maccan so it has to be a different
Vaughn/Vaughan McAloney/MacAloney; the birth ages are too far apart.
“The death of Vaughan MacAloney of Welland, Ontario occurred on Friday, 24
June 1994 in Welland. He was 44 years of age. Born in Maccan, he was the son
of ***Marjorie Muise and stepson of Fred Muise of Maccan***. He had lived in
Maccan all his life until going to work 16 years ago. He was predeceased by
his father, James MacAloney. A funeral service was held Monday June 27 in
Welland under the direction of J.J. Patterson and Sons Funeral Resident.”

149 ix Vaughan Russell McAloney.
I'm now of the belief this Vaughan MacAloney is the s/o James MacAloney [s/o
Robert Daniel MacAloney and Annie Edith Davis] and Marjorie Naoni "Midge"
Hurley, born 1926, Maccan.

#43 vii James MacAloney - "died before 1995 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Married a woman from River Hebert and second wife from Hamilton, Ontario."
The McAloney book was printed about 1999 so as new data later surfaces, a
few details are bound to change on a few people. This fact is applicable to
all of us.
This book is still a great resource tool and I would recommend it to any
"Cumberland County" genealogy researcher who doesn't have a copy.
