Obituary - AYER, Marguerite Charlotte - 88, Harbourville, Kings County, died
October 25, 1993, in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Somerset, Kings
County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Caroline (Franklin) Fisher.
She had attended Mack's Business College, Kentville, graduating in 1945. She
was post mistress in Harbourville for 18 years, retiring in 1947 and
co-owned F.O. Ayer General Store, Harbourville until 1954. She was active in
local history and an adherent to the United Church of Canada. She is
survived by a daughter, Joyce (Mrs. Harold Moody), Berwick; brother, Vernon,
Berwick; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased
by her husband, Fred O.; brother, Harold. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m.
Thursday in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Berwick, where funeral will be 3
p.m. Friday, Rev. Donald MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in
Burlington Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Grand
View Manor or any charity.

MARGUERITE CHARLOTTE AYER
Marguerite Ayer was a daughter of Henry and Caroline (Franklin) Fisher and
was born in Somerset Kings County. Marguerite had two brothers Vernon and
Harold. She died in Grand View Manor Berwick on October 25 1993 in her 88th
year. Marguerite is buried in the Burlington Cemetery. She was the widow of
Fred Ayer and had one daughter Joyce. She attended Mack¹s Business College
Kentville graduating in 1945. For 18 years she was the post mistress in
Harbourville retiring in 1947 and co-owned F.O. Ayer General Store
Harbourville until 1954. Marguerite had a keen interest in genealogy.

FRED OTIS AYER
Fred Otis Ayer was born on May 9 1874 and was the son of Cullen and Harriet
Ayer. In his early years he went to sea and for a time worked with his
father in the ship building industry. On November 18 1930 Fred Ayer married
Marguerite Fisher. The marriage was solemnized by Rev. John Hockin. They had
one daughter who married Hubert Kelly and after his death in 1980 she
married Harold Moody. For several years the Ayer¹s operated a store and post
office in Harbourville, Kings County. On October 17 1944 Fred Ayer died and
was buried in the Burlington Cemetery.

Obituary of Harold Moody
MOODY, Harold Clayton - 89, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Monday,
February 8, 2010, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Harold was a
son of the late Lawrence and Estella (Lutz) Moody and was born and raised in
Grafton, Kings Co. He later attended the Kings County Vocational School,
taking the carpentry course. Harold worked for a number of years on an
Orchard Farm in Grafton later working at carpentry. While living in Grafton
he was involved in community activities such as a Trustee of the Grafton
School and was a member of the Grafton Baptist Church. Harold moved from
Grafton to Berwick some 30 years ago and was an avid card player and had
travelled extensively with his wife, Joyce. Surviving are his wife, M. Joyce
(Ayer) Moody, Berwick; daughter, Marsha (Dwayne) Cleveland; grandson, Nick
(Angela) Rafuse; great-grandson, Riley Rafuse, all of Amherst; brothers,
Laurie (Jean) Moody, Windermere, Kings Co.; Gerald (Mary) Moody, Toronto,
Ont.; sister, Ruth Amero, Toronto, Ont.; step-sons, Glenn (Bette) Kelly,
Weston, Kings Co.; Keith Kelly, Thailand; step-daughters, Kathryn (Armin)
Sachse, Vancouver, B.C.; Ruth Ann Kelly (Bill Wills), Port Credit, Ont.;
Heather (Kim) Frost, Waterville, Kings Co.; seven step-grandchildren; one
step-great-granddaughter; sister-in-law, Nina Moody, Berwick. Besides his
parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Jennie L. (Parker) Moody, who
passed away in 1982; brothers, Floyd in infancy; James and Wilfrid Moody.
There will be no visitation. Funeral service for Harold will take place at 2
p.m., Thursday, February 11, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192
Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Rev. Marilyn Rose
officiating, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery, at a later date. Family
flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer
