Fredric Donald "Fred" Canning
1950-2017

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Fredric Donald Canning,
age 67, of Springhill. Fred passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at High
Crest Nursing Home, Springhill.

Born in Springhill, NS, he was a son of Evelyn (Pettigrew) Canning, and the
late Donald Canning.

Fred was employed at the Springhill Institution as an electrician; he was a
member of Blue Knights, P.S.A.C union (active member), and the Royal
Canadian Legion. He enjoyed motorcycling, beach, camps, hunting, darts, and
time with family.

He is survived by his wife Linda (Lowther) Canning, Springhill; mother,
Evelyn Canning; Tatamagouche; sister Florence (John) Backa, Quispamsis, NB;
daughters Stephanie (Gerry) Ross, Dartmouth, Heather Canning (Jamie Wood),
Springhill; step children Steven (Krista) Spicer, Janette (Shane) Melanson,
both of Springhill, 14 grandchildren and one great grandson; a niece and 4
nephews. Special Cousins Doug Jewkes, Springhill and Ruth (John) Geddes,
Halifax.

Fred was predeceased by his father Donald and son Troy Canning.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St.,
Springhill, NS (902 597 2361) where cremation has taken place. There will be
no visitation or service. Burial will take place at a later date.
