Edith Ellen Coldwell - of Wolfville Ridge, Kings County, passed away on Sunday, May 8 2011, surrounded by love, at Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Our mother was born in Welsford, the eldest daughter of the late Frederick John and Annie Leveretta (Lockwood) Hovell on November 21, 1915. She moved to Church Street with her family at an early age. Upon her marriage to our father, Arthur Leslie Coldwell, she moved to Wolfville Ridge where she resided until she became a guest at Evergreen Home. Mum was a life long member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Parish of Cornwallis, Church Street, Port Williams. She was a long time employee of Eastern Kings Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Wolfville Ridge Club, Silver and Gold Club, and The Seniors Club. She enjoyed baking, knitting, quilting and travelling. She is survived by daughter, Lorna (Russell) Ward, Digby and son, Douglas Arthur (Sandra), Wolfville Ridge; granddaughter, Lesli Ward, Hay River, N.W.T.; grandson, Michael Ward, Dartmouth; granddaughter, Kim Coldwell, Wolfville Ridge; granddaughter, Kelly (Christian) Keay, Stellarton; grandson, Douglas Coldwell, Wolfville Ridge; great-grandsons, Jason (Stephanie) Fisher, Saskatoon, SK; Sean Fisher, Hay River, N.W.T.; Braydon Berggren-Ward, Dartmouth; Thatcher Keay, Stellerton; great-granddaughters, Emma Ward, Dartmouth; Sidney Keay, Stellerton; great-great granddaughter, Charlie Danielle Fisher, Saskatoon; sister, Jean Farris, New Minas and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Leslie Coldwell and brothers, Charles and Albert Hovell. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. There will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday. May 14, 2011 in St. John’s Anglican Church, Parish of Cornwallis, Church Street, Port Williams, Reverend David Garrett officiating. Burial will take place in the Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice. COLDWELL, Medford Wentworth "Med" - 82, passed away peacefully Sunday,
December 14, 2003, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Wolfville
Ridge, he was a son of the late Arthur and Agusta (Bishop) Coldwell. Med was
a veteran of the Second World War. He also ran the Industrial Farm School
for Boys in Lower Sackville. Med was employed with the Department of
Transportation and W.K. Sharpe and Sons, he was a lover of horses and also
an avid net fisherman on the Gaspereau River. He is survived by his wife,
the former Doris O'Brien; sons, Medford Jr. "Mickey" (Sharon), William
"Billy" (Michelle), all of Wolfville Ridge; daughters, Judy, Wolfville;
Jackie, Wolfville Ridge; sister, Bessie Moore, Oromocto, N.B.; brother,
Malcolm, Lower Wolfville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He
was predeceased by sisters, Greta Ritchie and Hilda Wright; brothers, Arthur
and Fred. The family will receive visitors from 7-9 p.m. today in H.C.
Lindsay Funeral Home, 568 Main St., Wolfville, where the funeral service
will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, in the funeral home chapel, Rev.
Gary Manthorne officiating. Interment to follow in Willowbank Cemetery,
Wolfville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wolfville Ridge
United Baptist Church, Lung Association of Nova Scotia or a charity of
