I have a fairly minimal obituary for James Lewis Hardwick, published in the Halifax Chronicle-Herald, Tuesday, January 26, 2010. I don't recall if I ever sent that to Richard. I might as well include it here anyway -- see below.
On the 25th of January, 2010, in his 81st year, a special heart stopped beating with the passing of
James Lewis Hardwick. Beloved husband of Eileen and father to Julia (Mark), Paul (Jackie), Peter(Leslie) and Kim (Bruce); special grandfather to Victoria, Vanessa, Jessie, Josh, Jessica, Matthew, Alex and Emily. Special thanks to all the staff of Roseway Manor for their love and care over the past three years. As per Lew's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home and there will be no service. Memorial donations may be made to the Roseway Manor Van Fund, Roseway Manor Inc, 1604 Lake Road, P.O. Box 518, Shelburne, NS B0T 1W0. We take comfort knowing that you are walking or jogging somewhere to your final destination.
